BHR participates in the elaboration of a report about due diligence in the supply chains for the Eur
BHR has been invited by the British Institute of International and Comparative Law (BIICL) to participate in a project for the European Commission Directorate General of Justice and Consumers on human rights due diligence in supply chains and environmental impacts in Spain. This project was begun at the request of the European Parliament in June 2018.
The project consists of a study that will have four components: it will identify market practices for human rights due diligence through surveys and interviews, review the relevant regulatory framework, set out a range of options for regulatory intervention, and assess the impact of these regulatory options.
BHR has been commissioned to write the report on Spain, with the aim of reviewing the existing regulatory framework (including legislation, “soft law” and industry standards) for due diligence for human rights and environmental impacts. It will also examine other areas of law where due diligence is used to regulate corporate behaviour.
The project will be realized out throughout 2019 and will be carried out in partnership with partners such as Civic Consulting (Berlin) and LSE Consulting (London).

BHR ha sido invitada por el British Institute of International and comparative Law (BIICL) a participar en un proyecto para la Dirección General de Justicia y Consumidores de la Comisión Europea sobre temas referentes a la debida diligencia en derechos humanos, cadenas de suministro e impactos ambientales en España. Dicho proyecto nace a petición del Parlamento Europeo en junio de 2018.
El proyecto consiste en un estudio que tendrá cuatro componentes: identificará las prácticas del mercado en la debida diligencia en derechos humanos a través de encuestas y entrevistas, revisará marcos de regulación relevantes, establecerá una serie de opciones reguladoras de intervención y evaluará el impacto de estas opciones reguladoras.
Así BHR ha recibido el encargo de realizar el informe sobre el Estado Español, con el objetivo de revisar las regulaciones del país, los parámetros por parte de las industrias y la orientación en materia de la debida diligencia en derechos humanos y la evaluación de cadenas de suministros e impactos ambientales de estas mismas. En el mismo sentido se examinarán otras formas donde se requiera la incorporación de la debida diligencia en el marco legal español.
El proyecto se llevará a cabo a lo largo del 2019 y se realizará en alianza con socios como Civic Consulting (Berlín) y LSE Consulting (Londres).
