5th Conference on Business, Conflict and Human Rights
This fifth international conference, co-organized by BHR, took place in Geneva on the 17th of November 2017. It was based on the four previous conferences organised by the International Catalan Institute for Peace (ICIP) in Barcelona, London and Geneva, which gathered a wide range of academics and NGOs and other practitioners particularly concerned with business, human rights and conflict. The fifth conference took place in cooperation with DCAF.
The Network on Business Conflict and Human Rights (BCHR) aimed to facilitate reflection upon the causes, dynamics and consequences of business involvement in conflicts, as well advancing existing or potential responses to it from a transdisciplinary perspective. The network seeks to strengthen the ties between researchers working on these issues from a variety of disciplines, as well as between civil society organisations and practitioners world-wide.
Maria Prandi, Founder and CEO of BHR, opened and coordinated the Conference.
