Due diligence system and risk management in human rights IBERDROLA

Introducción

INTRODUCTION

IBERDROLA has initiated a project to ensure due diligence in human rights. Its framework of action is the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. For this, it has hired the consultant, Business & Human Rights (BHR) to guide the company in this process.

THE PROJECT

El Proyecto

This project is linked to the Human Rights Policy approved in 2017.

In recent years, more and more customers and investors have focused on the impact that companies have on human rights.

These requirements respond to the progress that is being made regionally and internationally, mainly since the approval in 2011 of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (hereinafter, Guiding Principles) by the Human Rights Council of the United Nations. It is a global regulatory framework that allows companies to respond effectively to their human rights obligations and raises, among other issues, the implementation of a due diligence system.
