Human Rights Training with SAICA
On the 20th of June of 2016, BHR held a Human Rights Training addressed to Human Resources responsibles in the city of Zaragoza. SAICA is a leading company in the Spanish market that develops and produces sustainable solutions for packaging paper and corrugated board.
Saica is a company committed, since its first steps, with the ethical behavior and human rights. SAICA commitment is crystallized with the approval of the Code of Ethics and Compliance which not only introduces the principles and values ​​of the company but also states how to apply them in the company activities on a day to day basis. It establishes that "SAICA promises to comply and fully respect the Human Rights of the United Nations in the development of its business object". According to this, the company decided to start a specific action to specifically advance on this topic.
BHR designed the training based on the concept adaptative learning, adjusting its content according to the needs of the company and its employees. The purpose of this proposal was to provide an executive, interactive and practical training to managers of SAICA, involving a long-term vision in order to strengthen the management of human rights and increase the opportunities of positive impact in this area.
The Participatory dynamics that were developed during this activity focused on the importance of the issue of human rights for SAICA and improve a better, understanding of the responsibility and role of each of the participants to comply with what the company code says and, ultimately, strengthen a human rights approach in the corporate culture of SAICA.
